Frequently Asked Questions

Can sticky restaurant tables actually be fixed?

Often, yes. Many sticky tables are the result of finish failure, years of wear, or surface contamination rather than a problem with the furniture itself. In many cases, the existing table can be restored without replacement.

Do I need to replace my tables?

Not necessarily. Many restaurant owners assume replacement is the only option when tables become sticky, worn, or unattractive. Restoration can often extend the life of existing furniture while preserving the character and appearance that customers already recognize.

How long does the process take?

Every project is different, but many refinishing projects can be completed overnight while your business is closed. Our goal is to minimize disruption and return furniture to service as quickly as possible.

Will my restaurant need to shut down?

Not unless you are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We specialize in after-hours and overnight work. Most projects are scheduled around your operating hours to avoid disrupting customers and revenue.

What types of businesses do you work with?

We work with restaurants, bars, breweries, taverns, country clubs, hospitality groups, and other commercial establishments that rely on wood furniture and bar tops.

What if my tables have custom artwork, branding, or a unique appearance?

Preservation is often one of our primary goals. Many customers choose our restoration services specifically because they want to maintain the existing character, patina, branding, or appearance of their furniture while improving its condition and durability.

What finishes do you use?

The finishing system depends on the condition of the furniture, the environment, and the client's goals. We utilize professional commercial finishing systems, including modern 100% solids UV-cured coatings and LED-cured hardwax oil systems, depending on the application.

Are your finishes food-safe?

Food-contact-safe finishing options are available where appropriate- all finishes are food safe when completely cured, and some are during the entire process. Specific product selections and recommendations depend on the project and intended use of the surface.

What does 100% solids mean?

A 100% solids coating contains no evaporating solvents. Rather than shrinking as solvents evaporate, the applied coating remains on the surface and cures into the finished film. This can provide performance and efficiency advantages compared to many traditional finishing systems.

How durable are the finished surfaces?

So durable that the cured finish can not be strripped like normal finishes- it cannot be broken down like traditional finishes. Restaurant tables and bar tops endure constant cleaning, spills, abrasion, moisture, and daily use. We select finishing systems specifically for commercial environments where durability and ease of maintenance are important considerations.

Can you repair damaged tables?

Yes. We provide repair and restoration services for many types of restaurant furniture, including structural repairs, surface restoration, edge damage, water damage, and general wear.

Do you only refinish tables?

No. We also restore and refinish bar tops, communal tables, host stands, and other commercial wood surfaces. We additionally offer custom carpentry services for hospitality environments.

What areas do you serve?

Service availability depends on project size and scheduling. Contact us to discuss your location and project requirements.

Can I see the results before committing to a larger project?

For qualifying projects, we may be able to restore a sample table before work begins on the remainder of the furniture. This allows ownership and management to evaluate the results firsthand before authorizing a larger scope of work.

Why do restaurant tables become sticky?

Sticky tables are often caused by a combination of finish wear, years of cleaning, moisture exposure, food and beverage spills, and surface contamination. In many cases, the issue is related to the condition of the finish rather than the table itself.
